About Last Tick Misconceptions are common in the sports world, where young athletes need solid guidance and advice to make it as professionals, and to prevail long after their final games are finished. We want to help clear up some of those issues and direct young athletes to lifelong success, so we’re writing Last Tick: Where Will You Be Standing When the Clock Runs Out? The book will dispel the common misconceptions regarding professional athletic careers, with an emphasis on helping these individuals achieve their greatest potential within a limited time frame. We want to assist readers in finding their way on a path that’s extremely rewarding, but also very challenging. We’ll encourage young athletes to act now, rather than later, when identifying and tapping valuable opportunities. We’ll also show readers how to leverage professional development, mentoring, sponsorships and networks to ensure success at the pre-game, in-game and post-game stages of their careers. For our book, we spoke with athletes, coaches, mentors, sponsors and other knowledgeable individuals who provided personal stories and guidance readers can use to shape their own careers and create their own success paths.
