Entertainment & The Arts
We are American Idol for books. Authors submit books to us and every day readers rate them. The best books make it to a 4 week contest in which a portion of each book is released, readers vote on their favorite for a week, then half the books are eliminated and another portion of the remaining books is released. This is repeated until we have one book that is a the winner. The current design contest is to create the cover of one of the finalist books.
What's your vision?
The character is African American, with hazel eyes and black curly hair. Her clone obviously looks the same with the exception of having dark brown eyes. I wanted a face with one eye being hazel and the other being dark brown. My initial idea was to have the face cover the front, spine and back of the book, so when you opened the book up, cover to cover, you see the face but when the book is closed, on the front you see half the face with a hazel eye and the back with half the face and a dark brown eye. So, it would look like a profile view on either side. I would like the knife incorporated in there somewhere to help with the visual concept of the book. Other than that, you are free to do whatever will help my book sell. Also, the setting is half in Atlanta, Georgia and half in Rome, Italy.
