What's your vision?
Title: Promised Land Sub-Title: A Novella Author: Lou Mindar Jake Reeves is a fifteen year old who should be enjoying his summer vacation from school. Instead, when his mother suddenly vanishes, Jake is confronted with his father’s strange interest in a TV preacher, and a police detective’s suspicion that foul play is involved in his mother’s disappearance, and that his father is responsible. Just when it seems that Jake’s summer can't get any more confusing, an older girl he has a crush on starts paying attention to him, and then she too disappears. What I want in a book cover: "Promised Land" takes place outside of Murfreesboro, TN (near Nashville), and is based on a true story. The Stone's River plays prominently in the book, and I'd like the cover to reflect the tranquil nature of the river, and the lushness of the land that surrounds it. I will need an ebook cover, as well as a Facebook cover graphic (see attached for example). Required eBook Design Specs: This is from the Kindle website: Dimensions: Requirements for the size of your cover art must have an ideal height/width ratio of at least 8:5 (1.6), meaning: • A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side • For best quality, your image should be 2500 pixels on the longest side Size: Your cover image must be less than 50MB. If the file type you are using supports compression, make sure to enable as little compression as possible, e.g. none for TIFF. Be sure to save your file with 72 dots per inch (dpi). Color: Product images display on the Amazon website using the RGB (red, green, blue) color mode or profile. RGB is the color mode native to the web and many color screen displays, as these three colors displayed at varying levels of intensity create over 16 million colors. When saving and uploading your cover image file, save your file ONLY as RGB - not CMYK or sRGB- for the color profile. You can usually find this option in the File saving dialog of image manipulation programs such as Photoshop.
Attached is a copy of a Facebook cover graphic for an earlier book. This will give you an idea of what I am looking for in the cover design.
