The Power Edit is an online information marketing business that lives at ThePowerEdit.com and “The Power Edit on FB” group: http:///www.thepoweredit.com https://www.facebook.com/groups/512100112237479/ The Power Edit exists to help amateur and professional video editors communicate more powerfully and effectively through their editing. In this book, I (Jeff Bartsch, founder of the group and author of the book EDIT BETTER whose cover you’re considering) take strategies gained from my career editing television in Hollywood and translate them into specific ways to help the readers improve the editing on whatever projects they may undertake. The target audience is English-speaking, 80-90% male. Let’s say the typical representative is a guy named John. He is in his mid-40’s, while others in the target audience have a general age range of 25-55. John has some college education, owns some camera and editing equipment, and edits on either Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Pro, or Avid Media Composer (in that descending order of popularity). John isn’t driven primarily by any one big problem that keeps him up at night – though if he had to put his finger on any one issue, it would be “Why is it so hard to find usable information on the CREATIVE side of editing?” His primary motivation is sheer enjoyment and love for telling stories that have a powerful impact on their audience. His secondary motivation is improving his skills to do more and/or higher profile paid editing projects.
What's your vision?
Book cover – front, spine, and back. For now, soft-cover only, so no need for interior jacket elements. Title: EDIT BETTER Subtitle: Hollywood-Tested Strategies for Powerful Video Editing Author: Jeff Bartsch Desired feel: Bold. Clean, professional, but not overly artsy or minimalist. Relatable, not elitist. Lots of details in attached Word doc.
Yes, lots. Attached Word doc includes examples of existing (poorly executed by yours truly) design, examples of what I like and don't like, ideas for imagery, copy for additional elements on the back, etc.

And then… they selected a winner!
Gordan designed my book cover. His design was in a group of about 50 submissions. It stood out among the rest of them and also mirrored my design brief. Working with Gordan is a pleasure on every level. He is a real pro. I can't recommend him highly enough. He deserves a perfect 10 score from me.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
