Middle Grade Novel Publishing for children ages 7-12.
What's your vision?
I need of a full book cover for a Middle Grade Novel (front/spine/back) as well as front only for eBook. Must abide by Industry Standard Rules: Requirements for the size of your cover art have an ideal height/width ration of 1.6, this means: • A minimum of 625 pixels on the shortest side and 1000 pixels on the longest side • For best quality, your image would be 1563 pixels on the shortest side and 2500 pixels on the longest side • Use color images when possible using RGB (red, green, blue) color mode. Print book size: 5.5 x 8.5 Book Title, Author name MUST appear on front cover Back Cover will have Synopsis, author bio/photo (attached), Publishing logo (attached) and barcode. Design Notes: Comic book feel for Title Font. Time period: present. Color Scheme should reflect Bold colors with green and comic book feel. Much of book takes place in Texas, suburb of Austin. Mood/tone of the story: Comic, adventure, superhero. This is a Youth Fiction, for ages 8-12 and needs to represent imagery which will appeal to this age group. The book mixes youthful adventure and comedy- the cover should reflect this. Look and Feel: I would like the cover art to be mostly text, and not images. Think Dairy of a Wimpy Kid series. Diary of a sixth grade ninja series too. We welcome Creativity! Please be willing to work with the Author. Feedback will be given daily. Title: Frogman: The Incredibly True Confessions of a Sixth Grade Superhero Author: Emily Cosentino Testimonial: "It was gross in all the right places!" ~ Marah; 5th Grader Synopsis for back of book: From ordinary to hero, in one leap. Alex Addison is about to enter sixth grade, when his life is changed by a single frog. What begins as just a gross encounter with frog pee ends up changing his life and his feet forever as Alex becomes Frogman - a jumping, fly-eating super-hero. Alex decides to keep his new found abilities and power secret from his family and everyone else. But Eventually, Alex confides in his best friend Artie Brandt, only after Artie discovers Alex's stash of dead bugs in his closet. But the one person in the whole world who absolutely cannot find out about Alex's secret is his other good friend Joel Hutchins, who is bent on launching his career as a famous biologist. Joel, a verifiable, 100%, true believer in Bigfoot, is convinced that proving his existence will launch his career and bring him fame and money. But in the end, any weird animal, any new find, will do. So, when Joel discovers Alex’s funky new footprints after Alex saves a substitute teacher’s stolen tests, Joel’s enthusiasm to unearth this new creature’s identity puts their friendship to the test. “Frogman” reminds us all that each of us has a special purpose in life, even when we don’t look or act like everybody else. It reminds us that it’s often the gift we didn’t ask for that ends up being the best gift we ever received. “Frogman” inspires its readers to see that they are and that the answers may be more exciting than they ever imagined. Author Bio for back of book: Emily Cosentino holds a B.A. in Telecommunications and an M.A. in Communications. She kicked around Los Angeles for several years and dabbled in television and film production. She is now launching her children’s book series with “Frogman.” Originally from Texas, Emily lives in Pennsylvania with her husband and three small children.
I am not looking for a pic of a boy on the front cover, necessarily. I like the comic book feel or a froggy footprint on the cover with large title "Frogman" in comic book font.
