I am an independent author.
What's your vision?
I need a cover for my latest book. The book will be offered in digital format on the Kindle as well in paperback through Createspace. The book is a sequel to my first novel "Extinction". The first book's details can be found here on Amazon: http://goo.gl/zyxENt . For my second cover, I would like more of a space setting with ships and/or a battle of some sort. I am really open to most ideas as long as it is eye-catching. My name doesn't need to take up a huge amount of space on the cover as some author's have theirs. The image will be more important than my name.
For my first book, I had a local graphics designer and comics artist work on the cover. I really liked it but it didn't test too well with most people. The cover included an image of two of the main characters from the story, a human female and a four-armed alien. I eventually went with a different cover created by an online artist who puts together images from stock image providers. I did however use the original cover design on a second book, a compilation of short stories from the first, that I put on Kindle for free to try to drum up sales for the main book/story. That cover can be seen here: http://goo.gl/Oy1dv9 . I was told by a lot of people that it looked too much like a comic book and it didn't fit for the cover of a novel. But it does give an idea of how I view some of the characters from the story.

And then… they selected a winner!
This guy is unbelievably good. Initial designs were excellent, but then he had a great ability to adapt and change in an evolutionary way as the project continued. I recommend B-Ro to anyone.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
