Entertainment & The Arts
We currently publish the fictional work of Claudia Hall Christian. The stories focus on good people caught in difficult situations. At this time, we publish 3 series - the Denver Cereal, the Alex the Fey thrillers, and the Seth and Ava Mysteries.
What's your vision?
Our book cover artist recently retired. We're looking to redesign the entire Denver Cereal series, which now includes 8 books. We're hoping for a series design that more closely represents what the website looks like: http://denvercereal.com While we sell mostly eBooks, we'd like the cover to be fit for a 8"x5" paperback book of about 350 pages. We prefer a blank square for the barcode. And the logo on the back. To get an idea of what has been done with this series, please go to: http://storiesbyclaudia.com/denver-cereal-series You can also find the story there, if you'd like to read. The first three covers were designed by one artist. The other five covers were designed by the retiring book cover artist. We're looking for 1 unifying theme for the covers which can be easily used for the 8 books, as well as any subsequent covers. Denver Cereal is a traditional serial fiction. It is sweet and crunchy urban fiction set in Denver, Colorado. We tackle current issues. The focus is good people caught in real life difficult situations. The chapters are published online once a week, every week for the last 5+ years. Currently, around 10k people read the Denver Cereal every week. The series is popular and loved by many people around the world with a focus in English speaking countries. We collect the chapters and publish them in eBook and paperback form every six months or so. Our hope is that the series redesign will not only redo the last 8 books, but also lend itself to the creation of subsequent books.
I'm including the art for the major themes of the books - our Cook Street Publishing logo, the current DenverCereal.com masthead, and the "bowl of cereal" logo currently used on the books. I have the artwork from/for every cover so if more art is helpful, let me know. I will need the final photoshop files as well as a copyright/license to use the covers internationally.

As a designer myself, I wanted to get another perspective based on the book details I provided because I am too critical of my own work. He was absolutely great! Easy to work with and just loved the vibrancy of the colors, just like I wanted. My book cover is already being praised on social media. I highly recommend him.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
