BON Cloud
Our Product:
Our product is a cloud-based website platform, an ecosystem, called BON Cloud, that allows multiple professionals across all disciplines within the video and television broadcast industry to come together and collaborate, share, develop and generally interact to create, work on and complete a variety of industry-related projects.
Our platform is available globally to our target audiences (see below).
The BON from BON Cloud means Blue Ocean Network. Blue Ocean Network is a wholly privately-owned international television network broadcasting a wide range of travel, business, cultural and news program 100% English language programs about modern-day China, aimed at international audiences with an interest in learning more about China..
Chiefly we are a service-based organization at the centre of the international television media industry.
Our brand values are: dynamic, inclusive, authoritative, professional, international, innovative.
Our company works to embed these values into the way our platform (our product) works, its usability, its accessibility and its unique features and qualities.
Services offered:
- Video library/database
- Video content trading platform/marketplace;
- Video media online production platform (where skilled personnel within the television media industry, such as directors, producers, editors, scriptwriters, camera operators, proofreaders, etc.) can provide their skills and complete individual production-related tasks within our platform);
- International media production collaboration;
- Video Licensing and Advertising Vendor
Target audiences are:
1) international media broadcasters and operators (i.e. Time Warner Cable, Verizon FIOS, BBC, Sky TV, DirecTV, Comcast, Virgin Cable)
2) video and television production companies
3) a wide range of businesses and educational institutions seeking video content
4) members of the general public from anywhere in the world who have interest in amateur video production who like to upload their handywork to the internet in exchange for international recognition or the opportunity to trade it at a future date.
Our target audiences are typically not members of the public who are not interested in amateur video production or user-generated content.
I'd like to explore the following colors:
Blues: Knowledge, trust, calm and honesty.
Reds: Energy, action, passion and love.
Let designers make suggestions:
Our logo name is BON Cloud. We're seeking a way to integrate the Chinese translation of our name into the brand identity design.
This would be 蓝海云.
Please see attached images. Addtional Note: These logo concepts have never been used publicly. They are simply ideas. Further, the concept of using the shape of a cloud in the design is not compulsory.
(Please also find our corporate logo attached (.ai file) which introduces our core colours). Let me know if you have any trouble opening it.
蓝海云 means 蓝 - LAN 海 - HAI (pron. 'high') 云 - YUN
Lan Hai Yun is Chinese shorthand for Blue Ocean Network Cloud.
Colours:
As for the colours used, we have the palette specs available. We are willing to explore colour variations beyond our corporate logo colours, though we've always used reds, black/greys and blues before. It would be nice if the brand identity was created in such a way that interchanging colours at a future date, or for different branding purposes, was possible.
As an American-Chinese company, we must have a brand identity design for our international business (in English), but that will also be understood by our Chinese media clients, and business associates.
The images I have attached should help to visually introduce our concept.
Please dont get hung up on whether it should have any Chinese symbolism inside of the design or not. Generally it shouldn't (because the majority of our target audiences are not Chinese), unless of course you have a groundbreaking yet extremely subtle idea to share.
Lastly, we hope you can stay away from the cliche idea of a 'video showreel' design concept or similar, again unless you have a stunning idea to share that utilizes such features.
Please ask if you have any questions.
