Valani is our ancestral family name – steeped in generations of trust, honesty and ethics, every piece of jewelry is a chapter in the Gemstone’s story. And even though each Valani Jewel is rare, it only becomes priceless when it accompanies you and celebrates your journey.
Gaurav, a third generation Valani explorer, first visited a Brazilian Emerald mine when he accompanied his father on a sourcing trip in 1998. After working with local mining families, he found that no matter how small the mining operations were, it was the love and beauty of each Emerald, Ruby and Sapphire that brought miners, traders and families together and created the stone’s unique legacy. His passion for finding the most rare and ethically sourced gemstones continue to take him on exciting journeys to mines in Sri Lanka, Brazil, Thailand, Zambia, and Colombia. After handpicking only the finest rough, Valani craftsmen then hand-cut and hand-polish every stone that eventually becomes the center of a Valani Jewel.
Having lived all around the world, Heena draws her inspiration from local experiences in Dubai, Lyon, Hong Kong, Thailand, San Francico, and ultimately New York City. Having graduated with an Engineering degree and trained at the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) in New York, she combines expert manufacturing with contemporary design to forge a jewel that highlights each gemstone’s unique features. Having gained national recognition by winning AGTA’s Spectrum Award in 2015, Heena places each gemstone on the center stage of her designs. And by embracing each stone and visualizing its natural form, Heena crafts every Valani Jewel as aunique work of art.
