This book is targeted at a young adult audience, ages 13 - 18 give or take.
What's your vision?
I'd like to do some promotional art for the launch of my up and coming novel. I'd like to be able to display it on my website as a feature graphic, as well as have it printed as a poster so I can autograph it and give to some of my readers. I'd like the print to be roughly 18x24 (should definitely be a standard frame size for the US). I'd prefer it wasn't any bigger than that, smaller is ok. - Epic Fantasy: Think Middle-Earth in Lord of the Rings. I am open to style, but am not interested in overly cliche fantasy images with silly poses and ridiculously bulging body parts. -Scene: Takes place in a storage room in a castle. The room has a bed, and should have miscellaneous other storage items like chests, other furniture that's been covered and stored, food boxes, cleaning stuff, tapestries in storage... anything you might find in a castle storage room. -Characters in scene: Tredon: male, big and muscly, dark brown hair, darker skin, green eyes). Ashier: Male, anglo skin, gray eyes, black hair and should be nearby Tredon, strong but average build. Leali: female, large build and lean but still feminine - think amazon, short blond hair with light eyes. Elisa: female, average build, long silvery hair typically in a thick braid down her back, blue eyes, curvy. Micah: male, average build, very muscular - he is a blacksmith - dusky skin, black hair, green eyes, should be visibly agitated -Setting: They are in the villains castle huddled in a storage room waiting for the last member of their team to start up his diversion so they can attack the 'big bad' and get their friend out of there. They should all be suitably grim, they are on enemy territory seconds away from an epic battle. They should be roughed up and dirty. They should be nervous. Ashier and Tredon should be near the door, the others should be scattered throughout the room. The castle and the tower they are in is of rough hewn stone and is on a rocky and barren island surrounded by a 'lake' of obsidian, smooth and black. They are all mages and should have no weapons, except Micah, who should have a sword somewhere on his body or in his hands and knives in his boots. In this scene the room they are in has just exploded on an epic scale, but has not finished exploding. The explosion has paused and the characters and the 'stuff' in the storage room have been flung helter skelter, you can see through cracks and openings to the outside. The characters and 'stuff' have been flung into the air, limbs akimbo; and now they and the room around them are frozen, as if time itself has stopped. -Must Have's: I need all the characters listed to be in the scene, I need the room to be exploded (see below for a few specifics so the graphic matches the book), they need to look generally how I've described them, and their clothing should be middle-earth-ish. See these links for some ideas of clothing: http://www.pinterest.com/pin/158963061820153867/ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/158963061820213372/ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/158963061820153871/ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/158963061820153721/ http://www.pinterest.com/pin/158963061822018895/ This is from the book itself: He could hear nothing, as if he’d suddenly gone deaf. He looked up at the others wondering if they felt it too when a concussive force lifted him from his feet and sent him flying through the air. His vision spun, he didn’t know which way was up and which way was down. He couldn’t breath. There was an incredible pressure on his chest. Then he slowed and stopped as if suspended in a batch of his fathers bread pudding. He looked about him, unable to make sense of what he saw. He hung suspended in the air and everything around him was scattered randomly without regard for basic laws of gravity. The bed in the room hovered in the air vertically, one end at the ceiling the other just off the floor, and it had exploded into a million tiny pieces. Only it hadn’t finished exploding. The bed was still, all the millions of its pieces hovering, as if frozen in ice. Suddenly perspective snapped into place and Magicless realized he was likewise frozen in mid-air, upside down, limbs flung akimbo. In shock he realized the entire room was exploded outward as if flung from the impact of a giant’s hammer. Everything had shattered and splattered and then stopped.
