We create children's books that will be distributed online, print, and as a mobile apps.

We are currently looking for an illustrator/designer to create illustrations for a children's book that will be adapted into app form for Apple's App Store or Google Play. These illustrations will help us select an artist to complete the project. Upon completion of the contest, we will supply the designer with the final 8 pages and direction to complete the book. The $299 covers all 10 pages. Details: - Revolves around a "Panda Family"- Mama, Papa, and son named Bento - Final output should be Vector graphic in .EPS format Please submit samples paired with the text below. Page 1 - It's early morning. Mama and Bento are still asleep. Papa is getting ready for work. He irons his clothes. Page 2 - Before he leaves, Papa gives Bento a kiss on his cheek. Overall Style - we are looking for simplicity possibly with a Japanese flair. Please search "Japanese children's books" for examples and inspiration. You can also search for "Panda! Go, Panda!" by Hayao Miyazaki for the visual style of both the pandas and illustration. I've attached samples depicting the simplicity as well as the type of panda we are looking for (more so of the kid panda). Illustration Setting - takes place in the family's apartment in the bedroom. The kid panda is 2-yrs old and sleeps in his parent's bed in the middle. The first page can be of the father panda ironing his clothes for work while you can see mom panda and kid panda sleeping. The second page should be more of a closer shot of the father panda giving his son panda a kiss on his cheek before he leaves for work. The parent's bedroom should be simple, not too much furniture depicted, just bed, night stand, and a lamp. Our objective is to launch this as a book app. If successful, we plan to create a series of books and wish to collaborate with the same artist for the project.
