Chalkboard Media
We are a small but growing media production company in Toronto, Canada. We produce commercials, documentary shorts, and corporate videos. Our current client base is largely public sector organizations, but we are steadily increasing the amount of work we are doing for private companies. We are also pitching (and expect to soon be producing) television shows and feature length documentary films. So our audience ranges from commissioning editors at Discovery & History Channels, to government bureaucrats, to marketing & advertising people at large corporations and ad agencies.
Our website is: http://www.chalkboardmedia.ca

One of the reasons we chose the name 'Chalkboard Media' is because the chalkboard is an elementary flat surface for publicly making & sharing creative ideas. Because they are used in elementary school a chalkboard also has a sense of childlike creativity, and the building of ideas. We do both of these things with our clients and our audiences. We collaborate on the creation of projects with clients, and share those ideas with audiences over modern 'flat screens' like televisions, laptops, and tablets.
We thought it might be interesting to have a variation of the logo that incorporates a chalkboard, perhaps the appearance of the logo being written in chalk on a slightly dusty chalkboard. However, we don't want to encourage anything overly complicated or cluttered. In many instances the logo will be used on screen at the end of a film or video and in that medium things tend to look better if they are fairly simple. We would also like to have a version that looks good in monochrome, that is one colour.
