Scott Kettner's Carnival Caravan Music Retreat

Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach

Exploring the vibrant intercultural connections of New Orleans and Brazil through music and music education. Carnival Caravan Camp is a summer music camp for adults and musicians to gather for 1 week in Woodstock, NY and learn percussion and music with Scott Kettner and special guests from New Orleans and Brazil. Carnival Caravan is a journey of two distant musical cousins separated at birth. It is a tale of two cultures that were born into bondage and survived through a musical journey to freedom and self-expression. Think lots of percussion, tubas, horns, dancing, singing CARNIVAL CARAVAN.

Don't use Stock art images! I want the logo to be fun, original, iconic and express the vibrancy and pageantry of Carnival in Brazil and Mardi Gras in New Orleans. There is a lot of drumming and percussion at this camp. The first 3 images I posted below is from a painting that someone made for my Carnival Caravan CD project. Please feel free to use some elements from this painting. I also included some inspiration art from New Orleans and Brazil. Please search for MARACATU and Mardi Gras Indians and New Orleans Second Line brass bands on google. All of these elements make up the Carnival Caravan concept.
