Great Design and very individual
Riva was amazing! The contest was a fantastic experience - I wish I had done it sooner. His designs are sophisticated, smart, clean, eye catching and memorable in the most positive way. He is easy and a delight to work with. I could not have envisioned a more beautiful logo that I am not only proud to display and share, but love to look at, too. His design beautifully conveys the meaning of my company, and he provided numerous options for varying uses. SO grateful for him and his inspired work. Thank You! I will definitely use him again!

The "edition takuba" logo will be an identification mark for a brand-new german publishing house. "edition takuba" will publish remarkable, unique novels with exceptional stories, written in an exciting, thrilling, pushing style. And the logo will show up on all those books.
What is a takuba? It's the sword of the Tuareg nomads in the Sahara desert. The hilt of such a weapon is intended to be the central visual element of the logo. The blade of the takuba should point to the right, but only a very small part of the blade should be seen. Above the hilt there will be written "edition", under the hilt it's "takuba" (all letters are minuscules). Roughly like on my completely unprofessional sketch that is to be taken only as a suggestion. The takuba can be shown as a photograph or graphically. The metal base of the blade should be seen (unlike my sketch where the blade is stuck completely in the sheath). The hilt of a classic takuba always is wrapped in beautifully ornamented leather, in different colorful ways - and so should the takuba hilt appear in the logo.
The logo has to be a true eye-catcher, it should send out a very special charisma, giving the impression of true power. Energetic. Full of contrast. But still compact and homogenous. A strong mixture of tradition and modern age. I'm not yet sure about the form of the logo. Maybe an oval form would be a good decision, the writings then could be bent a little bit. But I guess your ideas will be much better than mine. I don't want to put limits on your creativity - let your imagination run wild! I'm dying so see your ideas and designs! Thank you very much and good luck and inspiration!
