Finale Fireworks (http://www.finalefireworks.com) makes the software that professional fireworks display companies use to design fireworks shows like you see on New Years or the 4th of July. Also, fireworks hobbyists ("pyros") use the software to create videos of simulated fireworks shows for fun. We are about to release a powerful new 3D version of the software and we'd like to create a new logo and brand identity to match.

We are looking for a design that is grand and authoritative yet artsy, like a major movie studio logo. The image links below are examples.
My favorite of these is the Warner Brothers logo, which I think could incorporate some subtle fireworks concepts in it like a symbolic shell bursting, integrated into the background or chrome.
I am also particularly interested in logo designs that look or actually are 3D, such as the second link below (the Warner Brothers logo in 3D), so if there are any designers that are comfortable with 3D tools as well as the 2D tools, please participate!
UPDATE #1: I just uploaded some pictures of iron gates as a reference for possible ways of integrating fireworks designs into the chrome (metallic edges) of a logo.
UPDATE #2: I just uploaded another picture of fireworks types (logo_reference_11.jpg) as source material for ideas of creating fireworks imagery. In particular the image at the top of the center column, and the image in the right column third down from the top, are both relatively simplistic fireworks representations that may give you ideas for integrating fireworks designs into the logo without adding too much complexity by having too many lines.
