ivegotahaddock got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a high-flying view for Birdshot Aerials

i take aerial photos, videos and create 3D maps using drones, specifically quadcopters and hexacopters. as a freelancer my clients can be individuals, real estate agents, architects, construction firms or other larger companies.
i'm set with "birdshot aerials", but may append "images" or "imaging" to the name. it depends on how clear i feel the idea of aerial photos and images is implied. feel free to play with that. i would like the logo to be professional, but perhaps a bit whimsical as well. the business is very serious, and especially for aerial mapping/surveying involves very complex data, but drones can be seen as threatening and i would like it to look fun and perhaps slightly tongue-in-cheek. the name, "birdshot", is meant to imply - perhaps obviously - pictures taken from something that flies. the pun is meant to be fun, and in general i have a sense of humor about most things. i have a fledgling website of my images, videos and maps called "lookingdownonthe.world." (please note that i am not looking for anything that takes the word "birdshot" literally. no guns, no shooting, no targeting birds, please). i love crows and ravens. the "select your industry" tab above was difficult, because i can only choose one. the use of drones for data gathering (mapping) is as much about technology as it is photography, the photographs merely being the data collected. for me, that is an important notion, that photos contain data, not just pretty images. the data is then converted into 'point clouds', which are simply millions of digital points in space that are used to understand topography, elevation, and details of the 3-dimensional world. I've included an image of a point cloud to illustrate what that data looks like. the drone industry is booming right now, and there are countless new firms, apps, etc. that use logos of four circles or ellipses (representing the four rotors of a quadcopter) or otherwise abstracting the drone itself. i would like to avoid anything that looks like a drone. also, i almost never use capital letters, and would prefer all lowercase.
