The design is not what I expected and that is a good thing.
Besides being creative and standing out amidst all the submissions we received, this designer is really easy to work with, friendly, positive and prompt in replying to feedback or making adjustments. It was a pleasure to work with this designer and we appreciate their work very much!

How Hocus Focus started their logo design journey
Who are you known as?
Boston's Muslim Young Professionals (BMYP)
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
We put on events that are targeted at bringing young Muslim professionals (22+ years old) together in the Boston area. Anything from hiking to spiritual study circles to movies to bowling, etc. Internal to the Boston Muslim Community, we are simply referred to as the YP's as a population. We range in professions, from security guards, taxi drivers to doctors and engineers. We are looking for something to appeal to them all. The design should be fundamentally tapping into the human aspect of social interaction and should strip away the pretensions of class, race and economic status.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
Community & Non-Profit
Logo types to explore
To give us an idea of the overall feeling of your brand, let us know which styles you lean towards
Boston is a very diverse Muslim community. It attracts people from all over the world to work at it's hospitals and attend it's universities. The job market is extremely strong here. It is urban and suburban on the outskirts. It is gritty, blue collar and intense. It can also be very warm and welcoming. I would like the logo to be inviting to these very diverse populations while still holding true to the Boston energy. I would like the logo to capture the excitement of western urban city life, sophistication of a metropolitan area and the safety of the organization and the events we will be putting on for the participants. And please ask me any questions that you may have. I tend to be all over the place. I'm sorry that I don't have any examples. I'm hoping that through the iterative process we can settle on something. Thank you.
