rfm2219 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create logo for a Kentucky Bluegrass Music Band

Entertainment & The Arts
We're a bluegrass band. We have six people in the band. One is only vocals and the rest play the following instruments: mandolin, banjo, fiddle, guitar and stand-up acoustic bass. It's fine if you want to work some instruments in the logo, but not required. If you do, I prefer sketched instruments, not a photograph. We play in bars, restaurants, festivals and private parties. The audience is a broad age range but they all love the bluegrass music genre. We play the old traditional bluegrass tunes, gospel and occasionally work in some Bob Dylan-like folk. I generally like a rustic feel to the logo. We plan to use the logo in many different ways: on a banner, on CD jacket, on Facebook and web, gig posters, business cards, flyers, etc. We may use a background of old barn wood on some of the promotional materials. We may also have the logo burned into an old bourbon barrel top that we'll display center stage leaning up against a monitor. Main intent of the logo is really to give someone a memorable visual by which to remember the name of our band. You can visit our website MillersFolly.com or on like us on Facebook to hear some tunes a learn a little more about us.
Other color requirements
I'd like to explore the following colors: Yellows: Energy, intellect, fun and youth. Reds: Energy, action, passion and love. Oranges: Creativity, adventure and happiness.
Millers is intentionally missing an apostrophe between the r and the s.

A significant design that met all of my needs (which were many!). FFM's creative capacity and ability to integrate my ideas into a logo with broad appeal, yet targeted focus - will be a thrill to utilize for years to come. His diligence and creative juice, was greatly appreciated/valued.
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
