I am a romance author - this will be a logo for a seven book series. My graphic designer is not hitting what I want - though she has done a good job with the overall photo and the typography for the title and my name.

I would like the 7 to resemble a horse head - if you look at the font of the title - it's much like the Dirty Dancing movie font. I went and looked at the 7 in that font and with some work, it could resemble a horse head. Here is my pinterest page that showed some of my early thoughts about overall colors.
