chloe 9 got their new logo design by running a design contest:
Create a Logo for Simulation Week - young, modern, playful and loud
Check out chloe 9's Logo design contest…
We would like the designers to suggest one please
Simulation Week needs to engage and promote simulation on at least four separate levels. Corporate: Simulation is used by many different organizations from companies that build airplanes to healthcare institutions that employ simulation to train surgeons for neurosurgery. ‘Simulation Week’ provides an opportunity for industry to showcase what they are doing in this area and on the other hand, provides the opportunity for new companies to see these innovations. Simulation in its many forms can provide cost effective solutions - through for example: simulation modelling of cargo moving from ocean tanker to mine site (what most economical route) or training healthcare & military personnel (naval, air crew, army) for higher quality service and faster deployment. Secondary & Tertiary Institutions: For simulation to develop and be adequately supported in to the future – ‘Simulation Week’ provides the opportunity for leaders in our schools, vocational training centres and universities to understand why it is important to provide courses in simulation. Simulation needs a highly trained workforce that has the skill base that drives the techniques and technology that supports simulation. It further provides an opportunity to showcase emerging innovations from the research sector. And for the secondary sector it provides the opportunity for younger students to dream of a job in simulation “When I’ll grow up I want to be a simulation technician for CAE”. Government & Non-Government Sector: Without long term commitments for support and funding – simulation will develop slowly and haphazardly. It is vital that ‘Simulation Week’ shines the spotlight on simulation to highlight the need to invest in simulation research, techniques and technology in the future. Simulation Societies & Individuals members of those societies: There are many simulation societies around the world that promote simulation in its many forms. For example: http://www.scs.org/simulation & http://ssih.org/. ‘Simulation Week’ provides the opportunity for these societies to unite under a logo and a slogan that promotes simulation in its many forms. It also provides individual simulation champions to share their insights, research, training and inventions. For the next question on the 99design site under the question titled ‘select your industry’ we have selected communications – as this logo is to communicate what has been described above and is not dedicated to any one industry per say but could have a place in all of them.
Logo types to explore
By definition simulation "is a technique–not a technology–to replace or amplify real experiences with guided experiences that evoke or replicate substantial aspects of the real world in a fully interactive manner"(Gaba, D. 2007). Although many people in simulation still utilise and integrate technology "modelling technology' or 'simulators' such as mannequins, virtual simulations, hybrid simulations (part task trainer is integrated with simulated patient), when running a simulation. It all began with a design brief.
A quick, interactive guide helped them understand their design style and captured exactly what they needed in their logo design.
Designers across the globe delivered design magic.
chloe 9 collaborated with designers to refine their ideas
When design entries come in, you can rate them so designers know what you’re looking for in your logo design.
99designs has great collaboration tools so you can pinpoint and capture your ideas
And then… they selected a winner!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
