We're working hard on our 2.0 release. We want to communicate legitimacy in the news space with simplicity, elegance, and boldness. Think Huffington Post (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/), Time (http://www.time.com/time/), or even Mashable (http://mashable.com/), with perhaps a bit more boldness. Simple logos that communicate the value of their product.
When you visit Trenspot (http://trenspot.com) you will see red dots throughout the page. These red dots show relationships between trends. If content is trending on more than one source, a red dot will appear in front of its title.
We're looking for more boldness in our second release. We would like a darker blue and to keep the red as a supplement. The essential building blocks of the site will remain the same though we will be adding significant functionality with two new products very soon.
We'd like to include our tagline "The Right Now" somewhere in the logo, but we'd also like to ensure that the logo can stand on its own as well.
Text treatments are great, but we're not well-known enough yet to need -only- a clever font with no use of color, arrangement, or other highlighting.
The new logo will be the inspiration for our next layout, so we're looking for a design which we can build our site around.
