End Works represents a distinctive project and collaboration between two distinct community organizations: The Cultural Alliance of Western Connecticut and the Women's Center of Greater Danbury, Inc. The Cultural Alliance, a leader in supporting a vibrant arts and culture community, promotes and advocates for the arts, history, and culture as an enriching influence for communities and individuals, and as a primary driver of the economy. The Women's Center of Greater Danbury’s mission is to serve the needs of individuals, families and the community with prevention, crisis intervention and support services for domestic violence, sexual assault and other major life crises.
The goal of End Works is to engage the arts community in creating a unique voice that increases awareness, engages, and moves the conversation of domestic violence and sexual assault forward . . . towards hope for an end of the violence.
The arts community will be invited to participate throughout the year. We are looking for art that will engage and move the community forward in a meaningful dialogue utilizing different forms of creative expression; such as, art exhibits, poetry, film, theatre, and music. You can learn more about each of the organizations by going to wcogd.org and artswesternct.org.
