Our mission for the Sgt. Devin A Snyder Memorial Foundation will allow us to assist the local law enforcement agencies within Steuben County with the purchase of equipment and training. As the fund grows, so will the opportunities to "give to those who protect us."
Devin participated in soccer, winter track, and spring track. She was an all-county standout in spring track, and a member of three championship teams, In 2007 and 2008 with her 4 x 800 team she qualified for the New York State meet, placing 4th in 2008. She graduated in June of 2008 and entered into the US Army in August 2008 immediately after turning 18 years of age.
Devin Arielle Snyder was born August 7, 1990 in Virginia Beach, VA to an active duty Navy family. After settling in Cohocton, NY in 1992, where her family's roots began, Devin went to Wayland-Cohocton Central School from grades K-12 where in high school she developed the nickname “Twiggy” and was known for motivating others and her smile.
Devin realized at a young age that she was going to have to work hard to create her own success. To her, the world was full of opportunities and challenges to be conquered if she equipped herself with a good foundation. That foundation came from her family, friends, and the United States Army. She took advantage of every chance she could to develop friendships, play sports, and learn more about life, but most of all she believed in herself and how she could help and protect others.
