I am opening my first fashion retail business. This has been a dream of mine for many, many years. So I'm super invested in this process. I love beautiful and effective brands and believe they are a key aspect of the success of a business.
The name is Bocaciega. I added Style Market to serve as a descriptor so that people can quickly identify what the store is about. I want to incorporate Style Market into the name, but I don't want it to be the main element. I want Bocaciega to dominate. I'm ok with lowercase for style.
Bocaciega is the name of the beach in Havana where my dad grew up. He passed 8 months ago and I want him to be a part of this new stage in my life.
I wand the logo to be extremely versatile: it looks as good on a business card as it does on a storefront sign. I also want it to be as timeless as possible.
My store is a fashion boutique (although I hate the word boutique) that will live somewhere between Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach in California. I plan to sell a curated collection of high-end jewelry, clothing, handbags, and shoes from (mainly) Latin American designers. That said, I don't want the logo to be ethnic because the products will not be ethnic. I DO NOT like ethnic at all...
I want the look to be approachable and not stuffy. I want the experience at my store to be of unassuming luxury. All of the beach towns I'm looking at are very relaxed, but people also have a great sense of style and like/want high-end goods.
My main target is women 16-60 that are residents of the surrounding areas. They love the beach and love fashion.
I love neutral colors and like simplicity. I don't like anything that's to busy and difficult to use. I love combinations of typefaces.
I've included some logos I like (definitely the look I'm looking for) and some pictures of the fashions I plan to carry.
