1. Vue is about 'shopping with friends.' Our focus is on style and fashion. We encourage users to contemplate their "looks" (dress choices, accessories, the works) by posting their options to our app and ask friends and stylists for opinions.
The occasion may be everyday events or special events, like a wedding, or a beach party or a vacation in Paris. We call this addressing the "What to Wear" dilemmas!
The best looks may be submitted for a lookbook competition for friends and other Vue users for voting. This is the 2nd use case.
Finally, people may then ask for suggestions/recommendations/opinions on what to buy.
To summarize: our app helps users to interact with their friends on fashion choices, to figure out 1) what to wear, 3) what to buy and 2) maybe win a competition or two when they are looking their best!
We have included some of our app screens below. The design calls for blue and orange. We use the blue everywhere, but use the orange for accents, and orange and sometimes the blue for icon branding.
We want to move away from the orange and adopt a pinkish hue. We have looked at various pink hues and here are some that we like:
https://www.niche.co/about RGB 210, 46, 117 (niche) -- please double check
and Snapette pink RGB 234, 82, 89
Please feel free to propose other options. Our target audience is about 60-70% women, but we'll definitely target fashion conscious men as well.
We need these icons for two purposes:
1) iOS and Android launcher icons. We need these as the primary deliverables. We also need a launch image that goes with the icons (iOS dimensions -- simplicity is a friend here!).
For icons, we love silhouettes (Android material design version; iOS would require a flatter icon) and negative space usage. We like an image and the letter (V) or the name (Vue). Please see the many examples provided. Please don't over do it though. Subtlety and breathing space is very important for us.
2) Trade Show Booth Promo materials: Icons, Splash Screens that can be transposed (portrait and landscape), and can be scaled to display sizes.
Additional work beyond the competition:
We would like to work with the winners to top up our in-app icon pack, and also help select and customize avatar packs for 'user avatars,' 'fashion avatars,' 'category icons' (dress, skirt, pants, jeans, ...). That would be a separate project we will work after the icon design competition.
