There is no Australian website that caters to flamenco dance wear, but the closest to what I would like to achieve would be Lunares Flamenco (Lunares means polka dots) and their website is http://www.lunaresflamenco.com.br
I want a fresh and modern approch to flamenco costumes - no stiff frills, polka dots and and big hair! My designs are slimmer fits with fewer frills and modern, sleek lines. They are simple, but pretty, and I steer clear of many of the "traditional" design ideas as much as possible.
The main idea I have in mind at this point is a flamenco dancer with flame or fire within the design - be it a head made of flames or some design feature on the "costume" of the dancer to be fire related.
For this reason, I would prefer any figures to be female.
The human form is very important here - awkward lines in the body positions will be very off-putting, both to myself and future clients.
Having said all of the above, the whole reason I want to go through the process with a crowd-source design is so that I am not too narrow in my approach to the design, so think outside the square!
