The design was innovative and simple, which was what we required it to be. The colour elements and white spaces were utilised perfectly for both as a logo and the app icon.

Our building is an icon in our city. We wanted something featuring an architectural element of our building. What we got was amazingly accurate and simple. We love it.

DBIDS is an acronym that stands for "Defense Biometric Identification System". It is a software system used to secure areas/assets from unauthorized personnel. People present an ID card and some form of biometric information (ie a fingerprint) to gain access. It's target audience is generally government, military, and law enforcement.

I would like to convey a simple and positive image of security, and safety. I would like to avoid any negative connotations that can be associated with the idea of security (ie fortress/prison/barbed wire type things). Attached is our current logo in full, as well as a scaled down version that gets used in documents. I'm not exactly sure what I'm looking for, but I know what we current have isn't it :) I want something a little more modern, simple and scalable. I would like get closer to a web 2.0 style logo, but the audience is military/government/law enforcement, so it can't be anything too splashy. This logo will appear on everything from word documents, to mobile devices to desktop applications. My initial inclination is something like the word DBIDS with some simple image(s) somehow embedded within the word itself... or just off to the side. If you could make it so the acronym definition "Defense Biometric Identification System" could be easily included or excluded, that would be a big plus.
