Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Founded in 1993, The Greenlining Institute is a policy, research, organizing, and leadership institute working for racial and economic justice. We work on a variety of major policy issues, from the economy to environmental policy, civic engagement and many others, because we recognize that economic opportunity doesn’t operate in a vacuum. Target audiences vary but for this campaign we want to target Oakland residents, local decision makers and the media.

I like the use of icon and language together
It is bold and simple and feels like an UBER sticker

We would like the logo to include both the text UBER Oakland and an icon. Ideally we would be able to use the icon as a stand alone element when necessary. For example we would like people who support this campaign to be able to put a sticker on their car window like how drivers for UBER currently do. We are open to the idea of playing with the UBER logo to inform the design and possibly even using an adaptation of it so that people instantly make the connection. Another idea is to use the simplicity of U & O for the icon. The O could be in the cup of the U which would play on the idea that UBER has a responsibility to ensure/protect Oakland residents from negative impacts of UBER moving to Oakland. While we see a greyscale logo it would be good to explore an accent color (light blue/turquoise)
