orchids made easy
OrchidMax aims to be the amazon.com of orchids and rare plants: exciting plants, excellent information, speedy shipping, and outstanding customer service. The target audience is people who want to beautify their lives with fascinating flowers, whether newbies or long-time collectors searching for that rare botanical specimen.
Logo types to explore
There are MANY different types of orchids, but the most common is the butterfly/moth orchid known as phalaenopsis. This is the kind you see everywhere these days. While it is the most common, I am not sure if appealing to this common denominator is best. My background is in lady slipper orchids (see my website at paphinessorchids.com, and the attached logo file). Through the designs submitted, I am looking for visual input on whether it is best to incorporate the phalaenopsis into the logo since it is the most recognizable type of orchid, or whether it makes sense to use a different type or multiple types of orchids in the logo. Stylistic/iconic representations of orchids in the logo are fine; they do not have to be completely realistic. The logo must make the company appear approachable, since the tagline is "orchids made easy". Hence, the logo should convey that idea, that orchids can be made easy. Font selection is critical, as I want it to be appealing, but avoid boring connotations of similarly named businesses (e.g., officemax, foodmaxx, etc.) There are a couple of other companies on the web: orchids.com -- I think the rendering of the flower looks lame orchidweb.com -- I like the playfulness of the font, but the flower pictures dominate the logo itself
