Originality and creativity will be highly valued.
The tags of the shirts will be cut out and the logo will be screen printed directly on the inside of shirts where the tag is usually placed (behind the neck of a person). So perhaps some creativity can be implemented there when a person looks at the logo peeking out of a shirt hung up.
Keep in mind that colors are expensive when printing shirts, so the logo will be printed in one color (white or black) based on the color of the t-shirt's fabric. So please make the logo available in the positive and negative form.
The logo will also be used on a website e-commerce store, so it can have color here, or a background if you'd like. Just make sure it transfers to one color for the shirts nicely. Keeping it black and white would probably be best for symmetry.
Feel free to play with the upper and lower-case lettering of "Hem and Ha". EG: hem and ha/ HEM AND HA/Hem and Ha/Hem And Ha/etc.
The website URL will include the word "And."
Ampersands are welcome in the design but perhaps it would be helpful to have the word "and" in the logo just to be more in sync with the URL.
In the end, I don't want to inhibit your creativity at all, so feel free to throw in any ideas that may be contrary to my suggestions to enhance the logo's quality. I am no logo expert, though I am well-aware of the generic trends/patterns/symbols of logos used in the past.
Thanks for your time and efforts! I hope your work is good enough for you to add to your portfolio, and maybe win some money, too!
