Advocating for Quality of Life through Advance Planning, Education and Excellence in Hospice and Palliative Care
Community & Non-Profit
This is a new name for us and we need a new logo- you can visit our old name and website at www.IdahoEndofLife.Org - new site and name will come after we choose a logo. Like the logo we attached but not the colors...maybe give us the same logo with various color choices? The Idaho Quality of Life Coalition, Inc. stands alone for consistent leadership and innovation in hospice and palliative care. Improved care, conditions, and access to quality end-of-life care is our vision. Our mission is: To work cooperatively with other organizations to provide knowledge, tools, and mechanisms to promote better conditions and compassionate end-of-life care. Idaho Quality of Life Coalition Awards 2010 - The prestigious Regence Foundation "Sojourns Award" for leadership in advancing quality palliative and end-of-life care in Idah 2010 - Chosen as a Health Care Hero by the Idaho Business Review 2009 - Recognized as a Idaho Governor’s Brightest Star for volunteer service 2004 - One of three national Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Rallying Points Awards of Excellence Background In 2008 Idaho’s two leading voices for dying unified: Idaho State Hospice and Palliative Care Organization, founded in 1985 to support the growth of the palliative services of hospice across the state, and broader-based A Better Way Coalition, Inc., founded in 2003 in response to the “D” grade Idaho received in the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Last Acts Report on Dying in America. Now known as the Idaho Quality of Life Coalition, our vision and mission attract the energies of committed individuals from state and local agencies, medical facilities, elder-law firms, hospices, nursing homes, universities, the Idaho Commission on Aging, National Association of Social Workers/Idaho, Idaho Health Care Association, and AARP/Idaho. As Coalition members they serve on board, committees, and task groups. Broad-based membership is one of our most effective tools in reforming end-of-life care and promoting palliative care throughout life.
Logo types to explore
Our audience is not the patients who need hospice, but their kids and sometimes grandkids who are looking for information and help with a family member. Or it may be an older couple wanting to learn about advance planning before they ever get sick. It is not for youth, but 35 and up... We want to be the place for education on hospice, palliative care and advance planning- we are a coalition, people from all over coming together to improve care and planning for people who have chronic illness or who may be dying. Our members are the people who provide the care, we simply help to educate the state on what it is they do. We are volunteer based. We are a resource for community and our members. This is a very strong organization that leads legislative reform as well, very well respected, won many awards- state wide and the only one doing this work in Idaho. We just won a $250,000 grant to do statewide education on hospice, palliative care and advance planning for consumers and healthcare providers. We want the design to make a good banner for website, scalable for signage, as well as shrunk for a business card....not sure if name has to be incorporated or not, but willing to look at options...tagline is long so we could possible break that out as text and not have it in logo....your call! This is not a sunset picture kinda group...we are about bringing people together from all walks of life, but this is Idaho, so limited in that regards- HA!- and we are about QUALITY of life not END OF LIFE. Our members deal with that as hospices, but we want people to prepare, to make it easier and to have as much comfort and control as possible as they age and become ill. We also work to improve legislative hurdles to better advance planning and easier ability to provide care for hospices. We also educate and bring together member hospices for educational opportunities. We want our logo to invite ANYONE to join, not just folks in healthcare, but people who care about end of life issues and advance planning.
