infoElz got their new logo design by running a design contest:
InfraSGA seeks product-based logo in a green infrastructure/urban design-centered industry
Check out infoElz's Logo design contest…
InfraSGA is looking for a designer who can think outside the box with the way most green infrastructure companies brand themselves (i.e. The blue/green complex). Every company that sells green infrastructure uses blue and green. Our logo should fit within this environment, but stand out from its competitors. Our start-up company was a Grand Prize Winner of the 2019 U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) RISE Coastal Community Challenge for Innovative Product Solution. Our system, RAFT, replaces the need for costly and labor-intensive cast-in-place solutions for urban bio-retention stormwater management.

Logo Must-Haves: • Timeless, sophisticated, maker’s mark • Adaptability for multiple platforms (social media, digital and print media, letterhead, email, etc.) • Color combinations OUTSIDE of the typical blue/green infrastructure clichés. • Works both in color and monochrome/gray scale. Design Suggestions and Considerations: • We are interested in seeing how a minimalist graphic representation of our product might play out in the logo’s design • We desire a prominent symbol/graphic representation of our company, rather than putting emphasis on the name of the company itself as a logo. However, we are open to both “name-centered” logos and “graphic-centered” logos. • Our affiliated company features red and white – it may be worth exploring how InfraSGA has a separate, but extended legacy from this company in either color/style • We like the look and feel that archival colors and neutrals offer on websites and other platforms. The logo doesn’t need to be muted, but could complement other neutrals such as warm gray, slate, or cream Design Research: https://justcreative.com/2018/12/18/logo-design-branding-trends-2019/ • Describes 14 design logo trends in 2019, of which we prefer: o Shapeshifting logos o Integrated Negative Space (AKA Elevated Negative Space on 99designs) o Historical Logos (but not overly-detailed or “faux historic”) (AKA Logos with Pedigree as titled on 99designs, Timeless, Luxury) o Badges • The ability to extract and rearrange parts of our logo for a flexible layout based on project need will be quintessential in selecting our designer • The idea of a badge/seal/maker’s mark is highly important to our company, as our logo resembles the “seal” of our craft as landscape architects and engineers • No hand-written text • No hand-drawn or cartoon-style logos • We don’t want a busy or intricate design – the logo should be refined, simplistic, and highly legible in a wide range of sizes and formats • For logo examples and explanations, please refer to our attachments About InfraSGA and RAFT: COMPANY: InfraSGA is a green stormwater infrastructure product company that seeks to create simple and adaptable stormwater solutions that benefit communities and property owners by reducing flooding and improving water quality.
