The Japan Information and Culture Center in Washington, DC represents all cultural for the Japanese Embassy. They educate Americans (in the Washington, DC metropolitan area - including Maryland and Virginia) about Japan.
They connect Americans with the culture of Japan through events, education, outreach and other activities.
They host cultural days (like Children's Day, Health Day, New Year's, Spring Festivals, Cherry Blossom Festivals, etc); screen film and exhibits (like Bonsai, calligraphy, Rice Planting Festivals)
The current logo is attached, it says JICC and the "I" is the Washington Monument - we like this - but we'd like to bring more Japan into the DC imagery. Also looking for ways to communicate that this is the place to get to know and experience Japanese culture.
The country of Japan lends itself nicely as it looks like the letter "J" and the "I" looks like the Washington monument. We want to visually tie the countries together. Japan is cutting edge with culture and technology - we want to promote that to an educated audience who wants to learn.
