Art & Design
Wicked Anvil is a new line of products by Houston metal artist, Bob Dyer. These custom-designed creations are made of steel and other metals, sometimes combined with rare woods, to create unique, conversation-starting pieces for use around the home. Products include wine racks, humidors, bottle openers, and cigar ashtrays, for starters. Wicked Anvil products are intended for folks who want to let their inner “wild child” free. Think “Harley riders” — white-collar professionals by day, Harley riders on weekends.
Logo types to explore
Think “Harley Davidson meets Sons of Anarchy with a Room 101 cigar.” Should be tattoo-style and grungy, but NOT “gang art.” This logo will be stamped into metal, so it should not be overly-complicated. As such, a FLAT design is critical (no gradients), no more than 2-3 colors, and must be able to reduced to a single color. The Harley logo is ideal for that. Needs to be an emblem, so we'd prefer an outline or circular shape, as opposed to free-floating text. The logo mark should include an anvil in silhouette. Looking for the name to be enveloped in a shape, rather than a word mark or a pictorial mark. While we want “edgy,” keep in mind that we're appealing to white-collar professionals who want to let their wild side loose a bit. Wicked Anvil is not an urban or street brand. See our current logo in the bottom right-hand corner of our site: http://www.dyermetalworks.com Our Tumblr site contains photos of our Dyer Metalworks creations, but the Wicked Anvil products will be more edgy: http://dyermetalart.tumblr.com A few of the first Wicked Anvil products are shown below.
