Consumer Voice got their new logo design by running a design contest:
We need a logo that conveys "Seniors have a right to vote!!!"

Community & Non-Profit
The Consumer Voice is the leading national voice representing consumers in issues related to long-term care, helping to ensure that consumers are empowered to advocate for themselves.
Logo types to explore
Our organization (http://www.theconsumervoice.org) is looking to create a logo we can use on promotional items to celebrate Nursing Home Residents' Rights Month in October. Our theme for Residents' Rights Month this year is the right to vote and be an active citizen, even though the person is living in a long-term care facility. The logo needs to use the following text: My Voice, My Vote, My Right. October is Nursing Home Residents' Rights Month! www.theconsumervoice.org Since the theme is residents' right to vote in the national election, we want a red, white and blue patriotic theme. We really like the feel of retro political posters (http://www.google.com/imgres?um=1&hl=en&sa=N&biw=1600&bih=785&tbm=isch&tbnid=1APKaGIgSQ40RM:&imgrefurl=http://postersdesign.net/2011/08/26/vintage-poster-design/&docid=a1UwwtHAWEzTGM&imgurl=http://postersdesign.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Vintage-Poster-Design.jpg&w=450&h=678&ei=H_lxT-eWJKXo0QGFktXAAQ&zoom=1&iact=rc&dur=298&sig=113813744176498220990&page=1&tbnh=141&tbnw=94&start=0&ndsp=43&ved=1t:429,r:23,s:0&tx=67&ty=44) and the more modern play on this that President Obama used for his campaign (http://www.google.com/imgres?hl=en&biw=1366&bih=667&tbm=isch&tbnid=STVzKz1jVslQtM:&imgrefurl=http://isen.com/blog/2008/12/when-obama-makes-mistake-let-not-roll.html&docid=5iam1ZbqLd36xM&imgurl=http://isen.com/blog/uploaded_images/ObamaHope-766592.jpg&w=320&h=480&ei=2ARlT9OhJ8q50AH7s_W7CA&zoom=1&iact=hc&vpx=366&vpy=125&dur=6466&hovh=275&hovw=183&tx=108&ty=154&sig=108341603795037513563&page=1&tbnh=167&tbnw=111&start=0&ndsp=19&ved=1t:429,r:1,s:0). Please keep in mind that nursing home residents are not all in the older demographic -- some are younger people with disabilities, so it is important that any silhouettes reflect diversity. We also want something fairly serious, so no silly cartoons.
