We need a new logo design for The Historical Society of Southern California (HSSC), a non profit organization committed to preserving, interpreting, and promoting the diverse history of Southern California and the West.
HSSC would like to re-brand themselves in conjunction with organizational updates, moving to a new building, and starting a new chapter of the organization's story.
Here is the website to learn more about the organization:
Here are some elements to consider including:
- "Founded in 1883"
- The letters "HSSC"
- Attached is the old logo for reference. We want it to serve the old logo and be inspired by the classic logo, which has history behind. Also attached are other logos we like.
Some other ideas/guidelines:
- COLORS: We are open to both colors and black and white. A color logo would also need to be able to be used in black and white. We have been using a sort of Hunter Green as a color, but we’re also open to other colors. We don't want to use orange/yellow as the color.
-Here is our website - http://www.californiahistoricalsociety.org/ ,
-We like logos that are contained in a shape link a circle or square (but it wouldn't need the actual circle or square, like the Jewish Historical Society logo). We would like a logo that works on letterhead and online like a Facebook profile image, so it must be contained in the confines of space typical for online profile images. We want to be able to use it in multiple ways.
- In thinking of any potential images to use, if any, perhaps something iconic to Southern California. Perhaps a Palm Tree, mountain, etc.
