Operation Thanks was created from 2 Canadians recognizing that in the 10 years we were over in Afghanistan, we have never really had a national moment of appreciation to the Canadian Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) for what they and their families sacrificed on Canada's behalf. Strong Consideration of incorporating Maple Leaf into logo somehow Primary Target: 30-65 Families Secondary Target: 15-30 Young Adult Driven more via social media engagement Overall Objective: To make Canadians aware of Operation Thanks and Canadian Forces Picnic Day-June 3rd, 2012 To motivate Canadians into action by going out for a picnic, and raising funds for the Support Our Troops Fund Promotional Objective: Engage various generations in interaction with the Canadian Forces Family via Youtube uploads, social media, Op Thanks Blog Facilitate sale of Dog Tags Create opportunities for donations, contributions to Support Our Troops Fund Database development Key Deliverables: Clean lines, straight and to the point. Modern take on the military. Needs to motivate for people to get involved either by taking a picnic, donating to the Support Our Troops fund, posting a Thank you or all of the above Brand Character: Key words to look at when developing creative for tone & manner would be: Sincere, Proud, Strong, Humble • It’s About Time we do something • Proudly Canadian • Back to basics family values Brand Positioning: This is not about pity or a conversation about whether or not we should have participated in Afghanistan. This is about recognizing that the people involved in supporting our foreign initiatives are just that. Regular people. Who chose an extraordinary career that took them away from their families and important moments in their families lives to represent Canada.
