We are studying the daily interactions between older men in same-sex
relationships, that is, older gay male couples. Our primary interest
is what contributes to healthy, enduring relationships - in other
words, the emphasis is on the 'long-term couple' aspect more than the
'gay' aspect. Our preference would be something more abstract.
Our study name is MADEX, which stands for "Men's Assessment of Dyadic
Experiences in same-sex relationships."
We would like a logo that communicates happiness and resilience in
long-term, committed gay relationships. The logo will be used on a
dedicated website for the study as well as in advertisements for the
study (including social media ads, as on Facebook).
We want to look professional while communicating something about 2 men
in a happy relationship. Something contemporary and bit edgy would be
good, using abstract imagery and a simple colour scheme (2-3 colours
at most). Silhouettes of 2 men (holding hands or connected in some
way, for instance) might be one effective route. The logo should also
be relatively masculine, since we will only be studying men. Colours
such as blue, green, black, grey, and purple might be best, although
we are open in terms of colours.
The logo should convey a human quality, and not seem to be to
"concrete" in appearance.
The acronym "MADEX" could also be included somewhere, although it is
not necessary. NOTE: WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE SOME OPTIONS WITHOUT "MADEX"
Please note: We would like to avoid traditional gay logos or symbols.
We do not want a rainbow or rainbow colours included in the logo.
Please avoid including 2 interlocked circles with arrows (the symbol
for men or Mars). Please also avoid the colour pink.
