Entertainment & The Arts
Understorey Magazine publishes creative writing about motherhood. We define motherhood broadly and look for stories from adoptive, surrogate, and co-mothers as well as from biological mothers. We also strive to publish writers of diverse cultures, ethnicities, and perspectives. We do not sell baby products or give parenting advice. The name, Understorey, refers to stories not often told as well as to the plant life growing beneath and nourishing a forest canopy. Our guiding principles are strength, diversity, creativity, openness. Understorey is a project of a regional women's centre in Nova Scotia, Canada.
Logo types to explore
A tree- or forest-based logo is a good and obvious choice but we are also looking for other ideas. Our website is not yet developed but will likely use a grid-based WP theme such as Old Car (http://themeforest.net/item/oldcar-responsive-blog-grid-wordpress-theme/5046774?ref=cinim) or Notebook (http://www.elegantthemes.com/gallery/notebook/). These have the logo on the side rather than as a header.
Every design category has flexible pricing for all budgets. Logo design starts at $299.
