We are changing our company name, therefore, logo. We are DISCARDING that old logo entirely, please do NOT consider it in your process.
We are keeping our website, so whatever design is chosen, must work well within that website, which is under construction. Here is that URL: http://www.superior-headshots.com/
We are in a highly competitive industry, and based in Los Angeles, so we are looking for a logo that avoids the generic, the run of the mill, and really is memorable, brand-able, stands apart.
We are open to a symbol in addition to the words “Superior Headshots,” or simply creating a unique font for the name. Could incorporate the camera body and lens into the “O” in SuperiOr,” but in a minimalistic, classy, non-literal way. No cartoony vibe, elegant, sophisticated, national brand potential.
The dominant element, if there is one, is “headshots” rather than superior, though they could be given equal emphasis.
Logo must work against white, and within the very basic palette of the website.
The logo must work as large as a banner placement on a 10 foot by 2 foot flag, and as small as a business card, and website.
Adjective list includes: Excellence, highest quality, without equal, artistic, upscale, cutting edge, modern, elegant, friendly, creative, efficient, collaborative, professional, competitive, visionary, customized, individual, hand crafted.
What’s “superior” about us? Our technical skills, the experience we create for clients, the results we achieve. Most essentially, we are storytellers, expert at telling our client’s stories. We do not do the “assembly line, DMV, cookie-cutter photography” thing. We are a boutique operation, combining a client friendly, highly individualized creative service, with competitive prices, and a worry free experience. We make people comfortable in front of our lens. We serve actors, entertainers, writers, musicians, artists, corporate clients, professionals of all disciplines. We shoot everyone as if they’re a celebrity, and their picture is going to be in a national magazine, on a billboard, or album cover. We are particularly focused on eyes, as that’s what people first connect with in a photograph.
Could utilize a blue lettering, with silver highlights?
Could also use a light blue with earth tones to warm it up. A little creativity with the palette would be great.
We’re not above clever and appealingly so options as well, as in…http://designshack.net/articles/graphics/50-fantastically-clever-logos/
