Jwschiff got their new logo design by running a design contest:

Community & Non-Profit
Pangea is an online talk show that explores the intersection of humanitarian issues, global health and international development through one-on-one interviews with people from around the world. This is a "new" type of talk show that draws heavily on social media and audience participation. The target audience is people in their 20s and 30s who work with global nonprofits, government, social entrepreneurs etc. The name of the show comes from the ancient "supercontinent." Scientists believe that the continents as we know them today were once joined together in a single land mass. We're calling the show Pangea to provide a visual image of how social media and technology can bring people together in new and interesting ways -- even though the continents may have physically shifted us apart.
Logo types to explore
The logo should have a modern and multicultural with hints of a social media or technology influence. I'm interested in seeing designs that incorporate the image of the Pangea continent in some way. Here is an example: http://www.ecopolis.org/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/pangea113x85.jpg

And then… they selected a winner!
In our contest, T. submitted a design that was way better than every competitor. He took a creative approach to the problem instead of doing boring "business as usual" and delivered a result that far exceeded my expectations. He was also extremely responsive to communication, explaining his decisions and providing updated briefs within just a few hours.
For future projects I will definitely use his services again!
Along the way, they met lots of talented designers…
We think contests are a super fun way to get design.
