Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
Niche Optics is a manufacturer and distributor of fashion forward eyeglasses and sunglasses. Our frames are sold in small to mid sized optical stores and boutiques. We target customers who have a strong fashion sense and the willingness to bend the rules when it comes to the eyeglasses they wear. Men women and children all have the opportunity to experience our designs.
What inspires you and how do you envision the design for your business?
We need to design a case for our latest brand of eye-wear that we are calling N.Y See Eyewear (pronounced N.Y.C ). The concept for the brand is to use New York City as a foundation for designs and themes. For example all the style I.D's are named after famous NYC streets and landmarks. The same idea will also be used for frame colors and shapes. Everything will have the NYC feeling. We designed the logo using the I LOVE NY campaign.
The project that we are looking to design is the artwork for the glasses case. The shape and size has already been decided on and can be viewed in the attached pictures. Because we are using a clam shaped case the design needs to have a top and bottom. We are also using a case that has the shape of a pair of eyeglasses embossed on the top. My idea is to incorporate a NYC graffiti theme on one bottom side of the case our logo on the side that has the embossed glasses shape. That way one side shows the edgy and wild side of NYC and the other a clean sophisticated side. The inside of the case will be 1 color with our logo or website printed inside.
I included some pictures of the frames that we are going to be introducing with our first collection.
