Manufacture and sell XUME Adapters, quick release adapters for photo filters. Our market is mainly professional photographers, videographers and filmmakers. Focus should be on our Expo Promotion, not filters, images or image-making, and this piece is about this specific limited offer more than the being about the product itself.
What's your vision?
5.5" X 8" one-sided postcard handout for trade show. Piece will promote a limited-time show special. Expo is attended by mostly photo and video professionals, so looking for solid, clean and contemporary design, but we are open to any configuration or color scheme that is attractive and communicates the promotion well. We are competing for attention with 100s of other vendors. It should not look like a coupon book mail piece for discounted consumer products or services. The winning design will be one that is simple and devoid of design clichés like badges and ribbons for text boxes.
We provided a sample layout that we made to organize the text and ideas, but it is a very static and predictable design. It should NOT be considered a starting point or used as a theme! It is an example of WHAT WE DON'T WANT. NO ORANGE TEXT, NO ORANGE GRAPHICS, please. Variations on our sample will be rejected with little comment. If we liked the sample we would not be looking for a fresh approach. If we eliminate a design, simply presenting the same design in a different configuration is not a winning strategy. If it has potential we will give detailed comments and encouragement; if not we will have eliminated it. The emphasis should be on the limited-time offer, not our products. We have other literature and graphics that explain the product. We want a clean layout with ample white space and we're hoping for something stylish and contemporary. Overly-busy backgrounds or other graphics tend to confuse the message. Less is more. The photo is a placeholder and we'll be replacing it. It should not be prominent or overpower the message. We can drop the new photo into the final art, or redo in Photoshop. The XUME name and logo are registered trademarks with the USPTO. They should not be modified. They do not need to be large and should not be too prominent nor overwhelm the design. The low res logo placeholder provided will be replaced with high res art in the final. No stock photos or any other imagery not created by you that may be copyrighted and/or require licensing should be included. Use of such images will disqualify a design. The piece is about the show promotion, not images or image creation. No samples of photography nor photo filtration are appropriate. PLEASE submit flat, full-frame rectangular art, not renderings. Thanks!
