Entertainment & The Arts
I'm a Young Adult Paranormal Romance author.
What's your vision?
I need cover art for the second book in my series. I'd like to maintain a level of consistency with the first book, but if I like the new design better, I'll consider replacing the first cover. Title: "Taken" by Charlotte Abel OVERVIEW: Bound by love and magic. Betrayed by those they trust. Not everyone survives. Gasp-out-loud action; heart-pounding romance and an OMG ending that leaves you hungry for the next book. ***WARNING*** TAKEN is every bit as intense as the Hunger Games. If you couldn’t handle that series, don’t buy this book. Genre: Young Adult Paranormal Romance (more towards the adult end of the spectrum) Character descriptions: Channie: 16 year old female witch. Sweet, vulnerable face; intense, expressive, green eyes; wild, curly, white-blond, waist length, hair; youthful figure Josh: athletic 17-18 year old male (BMX bicycle racer); intense, impossibly bright, sapphire blue eyes; black wavy hair. Youthful but strong masculine face. Themes: Love really can conquer all, but not without extreme sacrifice. Love is more powerful than magic. Channie and Josh share a rare, magical bond called a “heart-bond” that appears as a glowing golden conduit connecting their hearts. (Not required, but thought I'd mention it.) They spend a lot of time apart, longing to be reunited in this book. I need Photoshop CS3 compatible RGB files with all layers intact, including adjustment layers and editable Type layers. (I may change the title before publication.) I want exclusive rights for digital and print reproduction, including but not limited to websites, ebook retailers, book covers, bookmarks, business cards, totes and other promotional materials. 1600 pixels wide X 2400 pixels tall You may use photographs as a foundation, but no photorealism in final product. Digital appearance is more important than print. (I sell 90% of my books in the Amazon Kindle store).
Even though the book is marketed as "young adult" most of my readers are 18-25 year-old women. You can find a description of the first book at amzn.to/Channie I'd like to communicate a sense of danger as well as romance. This second book is more intense than the first one. I'd like to see both characters on the cover if they "fit." Channie is more important than Josh. I want the colors to pop against the dark grey background of the new Kindle Fire eReader and have a high enough contrast to look good on the older, black and white Kindles.
