Reading the parameters of the contest and researching the era, I chose a film that I enjoyed and knew. Liquid Sky is one of my all-time cult favorite pics from the ‘80s. I wanted my poster to evoke the erotica in this movie as well the skewed alien invasion that is represented in the story line. The credits at the bottom are purposely cramped and spaced oddly to push the viewer into a sense of off-ness. The androgynous double specter silhouettes plays on the aliens within us and our own duality in life. Of course, more literally are the background disco lights represent the nightclub scene and the “death rays” symbolizing the mysterious deaths that occur. This was a fun poster to design and I hope it will entice you to view the movie.
