The idea behind this logo was to give it the feel of driftwood. The logo was for a rustic grill on the edge of the water so driftwood was requested and also felt appropriate. I started by making the word "hole" the main focus of the design. I added a fish swimming through the "O" to show how there was a hole in the logo which relates back to the restaurant's name. Finally I made their tagline printed on a piece of driftwood below the name to add a new color and round out the design.
