The national website for Girl Guides of Canada helps to recruit girl and adult members, present the organization in the best possible light(current news and photos); invite visitors to learn more about the organization; provide information for both potential and current members on programs, activities, cookie sales and challenges; to provide compelling information, content and photos; to engage visitors and members via our social media activities (blog, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) and to help potential members from all provinces, find local Units they can join and engage them in online registration.
The homepage will introduce Girl Guides of Canada, and provide links to information about the organization, such as our history, our mission, board, etc. The homepage should provide a simple interface that has easy and obvious navigation, search functionality and information geared toward the average consumer. The homepage should reflect that GGC is an organization of strong girls and women, and provide space for the provision of colourful photographs that can change or be updated frequently. The homepage should also contain obvious areas for joining the organization, for accessing relevant (and variable) quick links, recent news and include a twitter widget. (See attached sample of wireframe and mock-up) The interior page must contain content and images; breadcrumb navigation and left-side navigation. (Please see wireframe attached) The homepage and all internal pages must include responsive design for mobile optimization, use the 960 fluid grid system, must be compatible with all modern browsers including IE 7.
