How Connect Your Home started their web page design journey
Who are you known as?
Tell us a bit about who you are and the people you reach
A home security website for an authorized ADT dealer. Our target audience includes: homeowners, families, parents of newborn babies, empty nesters/retirees, and single parents.
ADT does have strict guidelines for us to follow in terms of branding and marketing messaging, which includes no images of "scare tactics" like burglars or violence on any of the creative used for the website.
What industry do you think your business is most related to?
The homepage should clearly show what the company is, and what is being sold. The promotion should also be the main focus of the page. We want to make sure the quote form is highly visible as well as the phone number so that visitors will be inclined to take action.
The second page should be a version of the specials landing page, currently we have a lot of content on all of our landing pages for SEO purposes, but we would like a clean format that displays the information in an updated way to include different images. The whole website really needs an updated look and feel to the site. It looks very boring, dull, and prison like right now, instead of conveying a warm, safe feeling for families looking to purchase a home security system.
What to avoid
Yes, the use of any scare tactics in creative images like burglars, thieves, or people trying to break into a home or car.
All of the websites I sent you, are all compliant and good examples of the current ADT promotions and best practices. I just want our website to get a fresh update that looks clean, with a prominent promotion and call to action, but that a warm, inviting, safe feeling also comes across because we are selling home security and ultimately, peace of mind.
