Because we use the Thesis Framework for Wordpress, we only need one page designed - the homepage.
For the homepage:
Pretty Much Amazing is looking for a designer to update and modernize its Wordpress site and logo while keeping the feel of the current design intact. In other words, it's the designers job to provide a modern interpretation of the current site. Specifically, Pretty Much Amazing is looking for more compact header and sidebar elements with the utilization bold fonts and modern iconography.
I've received some questions, so I thought I'd put them here for you all to see.
Q: What existing elements, if any, would you like to keep? Would you be able to provide design files for these elements?
A: I love many existing elements, but I'd like to see modern iterations of these elements, rather than having it recycled into the new design. My favorite elements: the balloon in the logo, the turntable on the sidebar, the colors (the blue: #0095ab, the background color and/or texture)
Q: How wide should the website be?
Q: Do you want a major redesign of the logo?
A: Not necessarily, like the rest of the site, I am looking for a modern iteration of the logo.
Q: Will you need to see ads?
A: Yes, I would appreciate the inclusion of ad placeholders in submissions, as they will absolutely be present in any live site. The relaunch of the blog will only feature two banner ads on the homepage, a 728x90 banner near the top of the page (under the header, but above the content is a good place I think) and a 300x600 unit under the radio element in the sidebar.
Q: Is there anything specific you'd like to see in the sidebar?
A: Yes. For this redesign we will be streamlining the sidebar. This is what we'd like to see on the sidebar:
Radio element. Title: RADIO. Tagline: "Listen to PMA"
300x600 ad placeholder.
Social/Subscribe Element. Icons for Facebook and Twitter, then Email and RSS.
Q: Specific links for the header nav menu?
A: REVIEWS - MP3 - VIDEOS - NEWS - ABOUT - SEARCH* (*search bar drops down when over over search button)
