Check out successmarketing's Web page design contest…
Community & Non-Profit
PCA is the peak organisation representing the palliative care sector in Australia. Funded by the Australian Government Department of Health, PCA works to raise awareness of palliative and end of life care, improve the understanding and availability of services across Australia, and encourage discussion to support improved knowledge networks. It does this through, for example, representing the sector to the Federal Government and developing policy, engaging with other national peak bodies and professional organisations, developing resources for patients, families, carers, and health professionals, holding events and conferences, developing National Palliative Care Standards to guide the delivery of quality palliative care services and running awareness and media campaigns. Palliative care is an approach that improves the quality of life of patients and their families facing the problem associated with life-limiting illness, through the prevention and relief of suffering by means of early identification, assessment and treatment of pain and other problems, physical, psychosocial and spiritual.
Clean & simple but NOT clinical. Should be friendly and inviting. Rounded corners. Positive expressing quality of life.
DESIGN OVERVIEW This contest includes: Marketing Page and Drop Down Menu. We have included them together as we would like a consistent design throughout. BACKGROUND Palliative Care is the national peak body for palliative care in Australia. It works to raise awareness of palliative and end of life care, improve the understanding and availability of services across Australia, and encourage discussion to support improved knowledge networks. The organisation’s vision is ‘Quality care at the end of life’. AUDIENCE Primary audience: Anyone who needs information about palliative care – patients, families, carers, health professionals. Secondary audience: Government agencies, other peak bodies and the media. It should look PROFESSIONAL – PCA is recognised as the Australian leader on all issues to do with palliative care and wants to be reflected as such. But also needs a ‘human’ touch to be engaging for patients, families, carers who need to find important health information. Nothing too ‘clinical’ looking. Please remember – Palliative care is all about people, and ensuring a good quality of life before death. WIRE FRAME - AI and PNG We have included a wire frame that is intended to act as a guide. Please keep duplicate elements the same dimensions (eg. page width 980W). FONTS - IMPORTANT !!! We have included a style guide that was produced for the organisation. CALIBRI is the default font. Please refer to the style guide. PHOTOGRAPHY We have included a range of photos taken by PCA. Any of these can be used on the site. Feel free to crop, edit and rotate as necessary. They are original high quality versions. Photos should be in full colour, not black and white. They should be ‘real’ not ‘artificial.’ Candid photography showing people experiencing palliative care, their families, carers and health professionals interacting is preferred over posed photographs. Our images show natural, real-life people and situations. They should convey emotions, atmosphere and engage the audience. STOCK IMAGES Yes, you can use stock images. If you do, please include references so we can check licences and price. We currently use iStockPhoto.com SUBMISSIONS Please submit samples in PNG format. Put ALL elements on a single page (just as our AI file has it). Your submission will probably be 1460px Wide (to include page and drop down menu). Please submit final copy in PSD file formats. Please list Font Kits and Stock used. We'll try to provide feedback every 12-24 hours! We'll also update this spec. as we think of more things. Please ask public questions if you need more info! MAIN MENU Please refer to the wire frame for options. BANNER Banner should include a combination of an image and a marketing message. See http://www.cancer.org.au/ or http://dyingmatters.org/ for examples. COPY Try 2 or 3 columns of plain text for written copy. Feel free to include images BUT make them AT LEAST 250px wide. Smaller images are too small. Use Latin content for the moment. SITE MAP Please include a sitemap for quick access to products and services. FOOTER Copyright and funding acknowledgment – this must be included. DROP DOWN MENU The drop down menu will be attached to the MAIN MENU (eg. drop down from About us or Policy). Please include some kind of frame. Consider shadows too as the menu will overlay the BANNER when it is open.
